Context
- I started working with this baseball brand in mid-October and they were doing well with emails previously but ran into many technical issues (deliverability)
- They also wanted to maximize the revenue from emails but have everything in place and not rely on seasonal campaigns and actually nurturing their customers
- The primary objective was to improve deliverability and start sending to the whole list
- They also had bought a list 2 years and most of it is dead (Never buy a list), so improving deliverability was the hardest since you have a high unsubscribe rate and spam rate
- The brand cut their ad spend in half
Deliverability
This is the main reason they reached out to me, every e-commerce brand that does email marketing faces this at a certain point, their score was 35 which meant most of their emails were ending up in spam, so I implemented the next:
- Sent a plain text campaign that intrigues curiosity to engage an all-time segment
- Then, they took the ones who engaged in that segment and started to only send them
- Removed unengaged and bounced profiles
- Had a mix of plain text emails and designed
